Howdy Folks! We have the wonderful opportunity to host Paul Wheaton, The Duke of Permaculture, for a presentation on Dryland Permaculture techniques right here at Yakima Beach! Paul is at the forefront of North American permaculture, and some of you may have even perused his forums at permies.com or listened to his podcasts. He'll be here on January 22nd, and the talk will start around 3pm. He'll be giving insight and inspiration on how to grow healthy food in our biome, with minimum (or no!) irrigation, along with a whole slew of other stuff pertinent to our Valley. There will be light snacks and refreshments provided by us to keep your bellies as happy as your brain. This type of opportunity does not present itself everyday, so make sure to reserve your spot!
 
Now, down to the nitty-gritty. We can host 40 people, and that is also the amount of people needed for Paul to not charge us a thing for his time and effort. He calls it his "Red Carpet Deal." However, if less people show up, his standard speaking fee is $400. So, to cover our bases we are taking $20 deposits to reserve your seat. (This is mostly so we know you're serious about being there.) If 40 people reserve seats and actually show up, we will give you your money back on the day of the presentation. Free knowledge! However, if less than 40 people sign up, or you reserve a seat and don't show up, your $20 will go towards Paul's speaking fee. This is far less than you'd spend at a conference or PDC to get the same information anyways! We do ask that if you reserve a spot, please try to carpool with others who are attending. It's better for the environment, and it's easier on us for parking. Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
